Visit of UN Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, to Hospitainer units

The UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, has visited one of the field hospitals in Gaza. This hospital is run by the International Medical Corps (IMC) and supported by UNFPA and other donors.

Kaag visited one of the Hospitainer units for Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEMONC). Inside these units, built in a 40ft shipping container, women are supported during their deliveries by extensive care. The units have an Operating Theatre and a recovery room, as well as all equipment needed to care for the mother and newborn during complicated deliveries.
